Street, some say it has expressions with multiple meanings, which can either be dictated by; living on the street, being gangster or whichever meaning relates to you. There has been much talk around town about a new metaphor of street; her name is sincerely original; BRITTANY STREET.
Hailing from the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana where she was born and raised. You can meet one of hip-hops most respected underground female artist. She brings you music to vibe to on any occasion. Versatility is her main key to GREAT innovative music. Brittany says, You can not be attached to one genre, it means you are only limited to one type of music. That's why I think my fans love me I can cross over into different styles.
With stylistic influences and echoes of Lauryn Hill & Lupe Fiasco, 2Pac , all combined Brittany Street makes a mark of her own. At the age of 23 she takes music on a trip back to the golden age of hip-hop with a pop! Street is one of the most prolific emcees to come out of the Midwest. She has conquered the essence of soul, love and truth all in one sound. Brittany has a style that involves creative stories telling over melodic beats, which have not been done by many artist in her genre in a long time.
There is rarely anything more exciting than hearing an artist bring and fully explore different ideas and methodologies. Brittany Street repeatedly touches each person as if they were hearing it for the first time. Her style is unique, and she is sure to light up your hearts as well as your minds.
Brittany Street has been lucky enough to work with some of mentors in the industry such as : Large Professor and J. Dilla. She has also worked with many great underground artist on the rise such as: Daytona 5 bill, Hott *MNDFRM*, La Ron, Eleathal, Future of R&B, Aime Cain, Rapadelic, Young Vino, Chainy, Robbie 2 click, GA the Remix King, Goldspun, Eclipse and many more.
Street can be located already in many different magazine's around the states. She was noted as "TOP ARTIST AWARD FOR MUSIC EXCELLENCE!!" in the state of Indiana in the Music X-Press Magazine (musicxpress.com). She was also the cover for Intake Magazine (intakeweekly.com) for the March 07' issue with a written bio and interview and Luxury Magazine(luxurymagazineonline.com) named her the "ARTIST OF THE MONTH" of April 2007.
Street feels her journey has just begun. And shes ready to take it to the next level. Its not about where you are from , what you wear or what you do. Its how you live it out!
